William C. Varian, Jr., Esq., the managing member of Varian Law LLC, has been effectively assisting his clients since 1989. Since 1997, Mr. Varian has chosen to concentrate his legal practice on a few related practice areas, and has devoted his entire professional life to all matters related to Estate Planning, the Administration of Trusts and Estates (probate), Elder Law Planning, Special Needs Planning, and litigations concerning Trust/Estate disputes (probate litigation). Mr. Varian is a seasoned detail-oriented attorney who can provide you with the quality of service that you deserve and the experience that you need in order to navigate in these complex areas of the law.
Mr. Varian has nearly 30 years of experience in the implementation of effective strategies designed to protect, preserve and manage assets, and then efficiently transfer those assets to his clients’ loved ones in a manner which accomplishes their unique goals and objectives. Over his lengthy legal career, Mr. Varian has developed the skills and knowledge to carefully listen to his clients’ concerns in order to develop comprehensive plans that are customized to meet their specific goals and objectives. Many sensitive and deeply personal issues can arise in the planning context, and Mr. Varian possesses the discretion, knowledge and experience to address those issues in a respectful, passionate and trustworthy manner.
While working as the in-house Director of Advanced Planning for one of New Jersey’s largest full-service financial planning firms, Mr. Varian obtained the unique experience of being involved in the planning process from beyond the legal perspective by attaining a detailed understanding of life insurance and the other financial products involved in the estate and financial planning processes. Mr. Varian’s unique background provides him with an unparalleled level of experience which facilitates the identification of often missed critical planning challenges. As an attorney with these distinctive experiences, Mr. Varian provides a significant benefit to his clients by, among other things, being able to effectively communicate with his clients’ financial advisors, CPAs and insurance professionals in order to ensure that his clients’ financial and estate plans are properly coordinated and achieve their common goals.
Mr. Varian was born and raised in New Jersey, and has lived in Somerset County since 1979. Mr. Varian graduated cum laude with a B.A. degree from Gettysburg College in 1986, and earned his law degree (J.D.) in 1989, cum laude, from Washington & Lee School of Law, where he was a Contributor to the Washington & Lee Law Review and was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award in Family Wealth Transactions.
Mr. Varian is admitted to practice law in New Jersey’s State and Federal Courts, and is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
